Available LanguagesLanguage En Montoro De Mezquita - El Obrador HouseThe small hamlet of Montoro de Mezquita had several ceramic workers. It is known that the latter stopped cooking in 1928. Mª Carmen Olagüe bought the house where the ceramic was and built a farmhouse respecting many of the original spaces of the obrador. There conserves pieces that were produced in the locality, molds, stones to grind the varnish, measures, etc. To the side it conserves the oven, that although is sunk wants to recover it soon. Also in the surroundings of the house is the rubbish dump where they lay the remains, and there you can still find ashes, pieces of broken ceramics, tiles, etc. After centuries of pottery activity, the house of the maker of Montoro made his last baked clay in 1928. Since then, the house remained closed until in 1997 we bought it with the illusion of turning it into rural accommodation. After two years of work in which we strive to respect the original identity of the house to the fullest, in 1999 we opened the doors of "Casa El Obrador" as a rural housing of superior category. Our constant effort for quality made that in 2002 the Provincial Delegation of Teruel gave us the tourist quality badge "T" of Teruel In 2008 we were part of the tourism project of quality in destination (SICTED) that was implanted in the region of Maestrazgo de Teruel. We continue to participate year after year. In 2009 "Casa El Obrador" obtained the formal category of three ears when the unified cataloging for national rural tourism was implemented in Spain. From the first moment our objective has been to offer a quality tourism with familiar treatment.
